New Member - Onan question

Hello Everyone, We are Dan & Wanda Damron of Nelson BC. We have purchased a 2005 Travel Supreme with a 8K Onan genset. Genset used to work great now it won't preheat or start. Does anyone have any ideas where to find the fuses (25A) for the glow plug or K2 relay? This would help a lot. Batts don't last long if your not plugged in and you have Hydra Heat. Thank you Dan

Hi DanDamron,
Welcome to iRV2. Consider posting this question in the Travel Supreme Owners Forum. On the iRV2 main page, scroll down about 2/3 of the way. You will see owners' forums listed by Brand. I think you need a reply from someone who knows Travel Supreme.

Something easy for you to check is the breaker on the generator. make sure it is not tripped. It should be located near the start button on the generator.

Welcome aboard!

I cannot help you Dan and Wanda, I have a gas coach, but I know there are people here that can. A great source of information and knowledge here on IRV2. Great group of people.

Enjoy and again, welcome aboard!

Are you sure it is the power source and not the switch? Will it start if you use the start button on the Onan itself?

2005 Travel Supreme

Hi Gary, No it wont start from the switch on the genset either. I am very new to this forum and should be in the Travel Supreme I guess. I will try to find it. Anyway I think we have narrowed it down to glow plugs.

Dan, don't know if the 8.0 is the same as my 7.5Kw QD but on mine the fuses for the glow plugs are under a cover found on the top front, driver's side of the generator.

Hi Dan. I believe this should give you the answer.

And as I look at the picture it reminds me to tell you that the radiator cap is under that plate as well. The little cap on the left on the outside is for topping off the overflow tank.

Will the generator start from the button on the generator? If so then you have a different problem. The remote control harness's get a bit corroded sometimes and won't allow the signals to pass.

Genset

Thank you all for your help, but I took it to the Cummins/Onan service depo today and they will fix it while I'm off doing other things. Thanks again Dan
