Have had a bunch of class A units, starting in 1985. Many have been DPs. Without a doubt, the tag axle is more stable going down the road. Just ordered a new coach (no tag axle) because we wanted shorter. Willing to make the tradeoff.

Engine access for minor maintenance and radiator cleaning.
With a side radiator I can check betls and replace them in minutes.
Rear radiator you can't, in most cases, even see the engine from the back. All access is through the floorboards inside or underneath.

Get a diesel pusher. Wife can use restroom, setup is quick, food is easy on the road, Very convenient. You will not look back after your first trip. Enjoy. Seeya on the road.
