New RV Pickup
We are picking up our new Winnebago Vista 35B tomorrow. What should we expect from the dealer? Anything special that we should be looking for? Any suggestions for tomorrow are greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Judy

All I can say is.... PLEASE do a thorough check of the entire RV and the working components and test each and everyone of them...
DO NOT hand over or sign ANY paperwork until your are completely satisfied and you have SEEN, with your own eyes, that everything works on the RV...
You need to arrive at the dealership with no emotional attachment to the RV.. cause they're really good at saying.. "we'll fix that".. "we'll take care of that"... just to get you to sign off and hand over the check.. and then, six months later.. none of it has been done...
Basically... you need to be strong and be prepared to walk out of the dealership (without your RV) if everything hasn't been done to your satisfaction... cause once they have your signature and money... all bets are off !!!
Sorry to paint such a strongly worded warning on what should be a happy day.. but I have seen too many people post horrible tails of their delivery...
I don't wish that on anyone !!

I second that advice! I was a service advisor at a major RV sales and service company and all too often the sales person would promise we'd fix anything that was wrong upon delivery. Even when the promise was upheld, it's a hassle to come back to get it fixed. If you insist it be fixed before you finalize the deal, it will be done right. They don't want to lose a sale on a service issue. In most states even if you've signed the papers, its not a done deal until you drive it off the lot.

Have wife or friend video tape the entire walk thru YOU will not remember all the stuff they show you and it takes forever to figure what did that switch/setting do for me.

"NEW"? Winnebago warrants their MH's as well. It is "Extremely important" that you are dilligent in getting any problems taken care of and also documented during that warranty time span. The best way to do that is to use it regularly until you test everything and completly know your new MH. Things happen during the build that are not always found even during your walk thru. Winnebago will be good at backing their warranties (if you tell them).
We really use and enjoy our 2012 Journey, but it did not come without a few issues that needed attention.

Good luck with your new Vista. Some good advice has been given especially about documenting your walk thru. Video is the best. Take your time with the delivery.
Happy Trails!!!
