New Shower Skylight Installation. Tinting?

I am getting ready to install a new shower skylight. Has anybody else done this and added tinting of some sort to block some of the heat and light? It's really bright in the mornings and wakes up the wife.

A lot of people make a cover they can install from the inside to block the light if needed. All you need is some thick cloth or vinyl and some velcro to hold it in place.
