New to me 2002 Itasca Suncruiser 35U

Hi All, I took my Rig out this weekend on a drive around the nearby parking lot to get used to driving it before I hit the road. I found that it was difficult for me to turn easily and may need to develop my arm muscles a little. I noticed that it has a stabilizer on the front, could that be the reason that it is a little harder to swing around corners than others I have driven? I was told that going slow in the parking lot making turns is the reason why it is harder to turn than usual, but I thought I would ask the experts here. Thank you so much in advance.

Slow speed steering should be an easy one handed operation. Open up the front engine hood and check the power steering fluid. My reservoir is at the upper right of the engine compartment. Make sure it's up to the operating level. If it's OK then the power steering pump may be shot. The stabilizer arm will have no effect on steering effort.

Do what Rockwood27 said. Remember that these things are not sports cars. They are a lot more like trucks than cars and handle that way. But you should not have to exert your self either.

Look for stains or leaks of power steering fluid on the ground where it was parked or in the engine well. A power steering pump going south may also make some noise. Notice any when turning?
