New to Me Holiday Rambler.

Picked up a new to me 2003 Holiday Rambler Admiral SE today.On the way home we.
Found a water leak a the rear bed slide. A/C unit above the bed.
Also water dripping on the dash board behind over head TV.
I suspect seal on A/C unit and seal on front cap.
Have not been on the roof yet. Raining here in Ca
Any input on best repair would be Appreciated.
Of course sell said never leaked before.

The best repair will depend on where exactly the leak is at. Try to get it out of the rain as soon as possible and make repairs. Good luck and keep us posted.

It's probably not the a/c itself, though that is possible. Most any water intrusion toward the rear will result in the water dripping out around the a/c, which is the largest and often lowest hole through the ceiling. Once water gets inside the roof, it runs out there.

Yes, the front cap is often a problem on that vintage of HR and Monaco. After several years of shifting around while driving, the joint between the front cap and the roof leaks and it can be a bear to get it sealed well enough to last another several years. I would suggest using both a sealant caulk in the seam plus a tape (e.g. Eternabond) over top of that.

Xs2 with Eternabond tape on front cap seam. Don't overlook the running lights in front. They often leak and are often overlooked. They should be removed and resealed with caulk.

If you have a satellite antenna be sure to check where the cables pass through the front cap.

Before you start on the big front cap job, remove and re-seal all the clearance lights. I am in my third coach and all have had that failure at one time or another.

If you are leaking around the AC remove the inside ceiling cover and snug down the four bolts that hold the AC to the roof. Often after a few years the seals compress and you can have a leak. Don't over tighten though, just snug them down.

41PU I'm also in California and just did my roof and leaks. On the AC leaks as someone suggested remove the garnish and tighten so the seal is 1/2 the size compressed.
I had a windshield leak that was a combination of sloppy job aND was replaced. There was some leaks caused by the front seam. I used Eternabond on the rear seam and it's a good product.
Get it out of the rain if you can. Use the Dicor 501 self leveling caulk and get some eternabond tape.
I know of a person that can reseal your roof for not much money. I did it myself so I would learn.

I looked closer today by pulling back the padded dash and found the rubber seal wet from the center of the windshield to right side.if it's a windshield! does the glass have to be pulled to reseal it?
Drivers side is dry.
I will remove the inside A/C vent and ck the mounting bolts and clean the filter.
I'm going to remove the clearance light and seal the them as a good measure..

Have a quality glass company experienced in RV windshields look at yours and let you know what will have to be done to correctly fix the leak.

Get your unit to a repair dealership that has a pressurizing machine. I'll bet you have more than just a couple of leaks. Had mine done recently and they found about 12 possible water intrusion spots on the roof and all looked good.

If the inside seal is wet, do you see any gaps in the seal or suspect if windshield was replaced? On mine it was replaced but they used a rubber seal with some rips in it and i was able to use some sealant. Mine was also the passenger side. This is the rubber seal that is sitting under the rubber trim. Is the seal you talking about is maybe just the molding, there may be a seal beneath it where the windshield is mounted on. In some cases the windshield may need removal to seal properly.
Some of the windshield leaks may come front the front cap seal and clearance lights.
Check the floors, inside cabinets/closet, check basement storage for any signs of water intrusion and if in doubt a moisture meter may help.

Took the coach to have the water leak checked out..
Found the windshield leaking,the front cap and the clearance lights.
All repaired for $450.00 and down the road we go.
