Great buy, plenty of money left for traveling. Fuel may never be cheaper than right now.

Tell you what, one thing I like about the older coaches is the simplicity of the systems. After spending a couple of years fiddling with mine, I have found that most repairs are doable by the owner. That would be another reason I sold my 2007 boat and purchased a 1992 model. With the assistance of some folks on this board, the diagnosis process becomes easier. That is a forever coach you have there.

Newb looking at a 97 Freightliner Tradewinds
Already had to tackle a simple situation i found underneath. Zip ties were rotted and with a simple tug all this came down! Probably good thing because it was zip tied to the generator exhaust.

That's a great looking coach, love the interior, looks clean, and a great price. Don't see how you could go too wrong. Congratulations and keep us informed of all the fun little cleaning/ upgrade projects. That's half the fun!

Old motor homes, old boats, wiring that was done sloppy in some areas, typical in many cases. I'll guess that those cables are all heading out from the battery bank? I have been gradually going through mine and cleaning this type of stuff up. When I came home from my first surgery they delivered my coach, but since I was on a lifting restriction (they had my heart out and back in), I spent a few days on a stool with emery cloth, a file, tie wraps, wire brush, new cable ends, solder, crimper, etc and cleaned it all up. Recommend you do the same, albeit much more quickly than I was able.
