Newbie here with a rear wheel fluid leak question

Sorry in advance if this is a dumb question but when I pulled into my camp site to set up, I noticed a fluid leak on my left rear wheel. Not sure if it's a failed seal on the axle or what. Anyway, my question is can I ease the rig home to get it repaired or do I need to have it towed. I'm in Cherokee NC & I live in Sevierville, TN so it's about 55 miles over the mountain to get home.

What type/size of MH? Chances are are that it is a wheel seal, unless it has hydraulic brakes then it could be brake fluid. Either way it should be addressed before too much driving.
If it is brake fluid, then you could loose your barkes.
If it is an oil seal, then it could also effect your braking system by getting oil on the brake pads/shoes.
Are you someplace that this can be addressed there/

Check the fluid in the master cylinder good chance it's the wheel cylinder leaking

Assuming the leak is on the inside tire, touch the fluid with your fingertip and smell it. Light sulphur smell it's diff lube, anything else it brake fluid...if you have hyd brakes. If the leak is on the outside tire then it's diff lube from the axle drive flange, easy to fix and not a major safety issue.

I have a slight leak in my left seal that only appears if I level using a board under the outside dual and then only rarely. Mine is diff lube.

In either case I think you can nurse it home unless there is a major fluid loss. Just be cautious because a loss of braking on that wheel is a good possibility.

But if it's brake fluid (assuming you have hydraulic brakes) and there is more than a little, I wouldn't drive it. You wouldn't want to find you had no brakes.
