newbie w/ new gas trans on inclines

A newbie here. Driving 32' 94 Fleetwood Coronado GM 454 gas new trans.

In South Jersey, De, LehighValley we have noted it is difficult to maintain speed over 40 MPH on inclines. Even going over De Memorial Bridge really runs loud and has to be floored to keep at 40mph. DH not giving me much here to explain better. CC is out of the question on these inclines. Is this normal or does trans need to adjusted somehow.

Without knowing your weights and what you may be towing, its really hard to say.

Loaded and on steep inclines, that may be all you can get. Not unusual on some mountain grades for me to slow to 45mph or less when we had the gasser towing my Explorer.

We have the Ford V10, but I feel safe in saying that most gassers drop into lower gears and rev higher when climbing. We cannot use our cruise control at all in hilly areas because the revving makes us crazy(er). As Wizard said, just make sure you are within the proper weight limits (and turn up the radio.)

Sounds like a fun trip! Lots of memories will be made for those kids, so have a blast. Congrats on your new moho.
