Newmar 3710 vs. Tiffin 36UA
Will be buying our first MH soon and have it pretty much narrowed down to 2 models. We spent lots of time in each at the Hershey RV show and we are looking for opinions from those who have each. Hoping to get a 2017 leftover or a slightly used one.
1. Newmar Canyon Star 3710 - hubby loves the construction of Newmar. Has everything we want/need but the bedroom area is tight.
2. Tiffin Allegro 36UA - similar floor plan except has bunks (for the 2 dogs) and is SO open with the full-wall slide!
We will be full-time with the 2 dogs. Honestly love them both but slight edge to the CS for hubby and Allegro for me.

• Both very nice MH's.
• I'm a pet owner and my guess is, that the chances of your 2 dogs running in and going, "Oh wow, look, there's our own 2 beds. One for each of us. Thanks mom" and then sleeping there in their designated areas...are pretty slim. It'll probably end up being storage space IMO. But that's just me.
• Since you're going to be FTing a big consideration in my book would be, what coach has more CCC. You'll need it.
My 2 cents.

Ok this one is easy Newmar. I have a full wall slide model and it really opens up the space. But as we all know, normally we get what the DW wants so it looks like there maybe a Tiffin in your future.

actually, it is the Tiffin that has the full-wall slide, not the Newmar.

Yes I know that the Tiffin has the FWS. I was commenting on the general benefits of the FWS.

Interesting that you would be comparing the 3710 to the 36UA and not the 36LA which is a more similar coach. I too like the Newmar construction but I like the separate recliner and bedroom ceiling fan in the Tiffin.

Having had two Dutch Stars and never having even been in a Tiffin my knowledge of the two is limited. Everything being somewhat equal, then the floor plan rules.

Does the LA have the full-wall slide? Is it as open as the UA? I think we looked at one at the show but can't remember what we didn't like.

A) If one feels tight to you when it's empty at an RV show, wait until you load it up with all of your stuff
B) Happy wife, happy life
Not to confuse things, but since you are going to be full-timing, have you considered stepping up to a pre-owned Diesel Pusher? - e.g. a Newmar Ventana LE, or Tiffin Allegro RED?

We have the 2015 Tiffin 36LA. It has neither the full wall slide nor the bunks nor the king bed. While we are extremely happy with our coach and its floor plan it does not have the open space of the 36UA. The 36UA looks very nice but we much rather have the TV viewing layout of our 36LA.

No full wall slide, but both the bedroom and living area slides are on the drivers side, so while there's a little pinch point at the bedroom opening, it's very close to one.

The major differences between the 3710 and the 36LA are the 3710 has a king bed, 36LA has a queen. 36 LA adds a recliner. Washer dryer are in the rear bath in the 36LA and in the hall in the 3710. I think the 3710 has 2 black tanks, where the 36LA uses one with a macerator rear toilet. Personally, I think the Tiffin cabinetry is superior to the standard Newmar stuff. Newmar uses vinyl wrapped pressboard (or something like it) for the frames where Tiffin uses solid wood frames. Both use wood doors. I have the Newmar cabinets now and not really fond of them. Screws strip out very easily. Bedroom is reversed in the Newmar with the slide on the pass side. I've been through the Tiffin plant several times and am impressed with their coaches. However, I still like my Newmar. My Newmar is extremely quiet inside - even the A/Cs don't make a lot of racket. And Newmar uses hung-wall construction. Tiffins are laminated. Regardless, both are quality coaches.
