Newmar Canyon Star or F.R. Georgetown

Wife says we need a bigger rv.What is better Canyon star or georgetown and why?We have a 2009 Coachmen Concord 275ds Class C

The better motor home for you is the one with the layout you need and you enjoy driving the most. Go drive 20 motor homes and as you spend time doing that figure out what best fits your needs. Newmar is a good brand, but there are lots of good brands. Motor homes are basically made out of bought parts. So you should really figure out who did the most careful job of assembly.

Things to think about. Never buy a motor home that does not come with a complete set of operator instructions, drawings, and plans. You will need them frequently. Do not accept that the stuff is on the web. Many times you cannot get to the web and will need the books. Usually you will not have a printer with you so are you going to balance a computer looking at the screen while doing the work? Find the electrical cabinet. Buy the motor home where all the wires are clearly marked.

We've owned our 2008 Canyon Star 3410 since Nov. 2007 and have been completely satisfied with our purchase. Newmar quality is apparent even on their entry model units.
Some friends of ours were so impressed that they went out and bought a 2010 Canyon Star.

Thanks for info I love my Concord I only have 3500 miles on it How much
difference is a Class A to drive and park then a class C? Any other brands
I should consider?I want around a 36 Ft Class A The only problem is height
my garage door is 13 Ft from top of door to concrete I see the newmar is 12'10"
is that right?

cant speak to the dif in quality but can tell you we are pleased with the initial quality and value in our new gtown .did both the newmar and winnie factory tours.was impressed by both for us the deciding factor was the local dlr ,pleased with the service on our 2009 HR so we were comfortable doing it again.

Our Canyon Star measures 12'10" to the top of the AC cowlings.
I've never owned a Class C, but I would expect that a Class A feels larger and wider. However, you get a great view of the road and an exceptional view of the scenery through that huge one piece windshield! Be aware of the rear end swing towards the outside of turns because of the overhang past the rear axle. We like to dry camp in the national parks and have always been able to find sites that work.
I think that you will find that a Class A lives larger because the driver and passenger seats are on the same level as the rest of the coach and turn to become part of the living area. There is also a ton of storage space compared to most Class C motorhomes.

We had a 26' Jamboree C for a couple of seasons and now have an 02 Gorgetown 325. No comparison. We're done with Class Cs.

We've had the Georgetown just 3 months, but so far we're quite pleased with it. We bought this particular rig because it was in such good shape and was a local private sale. We'd been looking for about 9 months and we couldn't afford what we liked, and didn't like what we could afford. This one was about $7K under NADA and has quite a lot of extras.

The only unexpected problem we've encountered is a rotted slide topper on the living room slide. The bedroom topper is a bit dodgy, but it will probably do a couple more seasons.

We have no experience with other makes, but are quite happy with FR. We figure if Warren Buffet was impressed enough to buy the company, its products are probably OK.

in March Thanks for the help this web site helped me to decide it was $10,000.00 more than my 2nd choice a Damon Thanks again for the help.
