I just heard from a friend in Elkhart that Newmar was throwing in the towel...has anyone else heard this? Also that Monaco laid off 20% of work force last Friday....Things seem to be going from bad to worst.

This rumor was posted to the Newmar board a few days ago. No substance to it that anyone has been able to confirm.

What was your friend's source?

He just works in the area in the motor home industry. He's been pretty dead on with his info so far. I just wanted to see if anyone else had heard this.

The Newmar rumor has surfaced several times since the economy went south.

I believe the Monaco rumor is old news.

I monitor RV industry news websites several time a day, and there is no news on either of these two rumors.
