Question Newmar Mountain Aire 05

Looking for parts to my front automatic visor. It comes down but won't retract. Also we are having a problem with our front slide going in and out by it's self when it gets very warm in the coach. We take the fuse out to stop it from doing this when we leave it for the day. Is there anyone out there with this problem.
The other thing we need advice on is the wind sensor keeps putting the awning in without a breeze is there an adjuster on it.
One more thing, our in motion satellite system no longer tracks in motion. We bought the cord to calibrate it and it told us to call KVH and all he could do for me was tell me we had to upgrade the entire system as ours is too old, it is a 2005! Has any one else run into this problem

Hi calvin6, welcome to iRV2.

Can't help you on the other items, and you don't say what make your awning is, but below is a page from an instruction sheet that will show you how to change the sensitivity of the wind sensor on an A&E Weather Pro awning. If you take the cover off the control box, there is a row of little white switches. Changing positions of the switches results in the awning rolling up at different wind speeds.

The figure on the bottom left shows the factory settings of 18 mph. Note that wind speeds are approximate and can be affected by things on your roof and by surrounding objects like trees. Sometimes our awning rolls up with a gentle breeze, and other times it never does seem to want to roll up even though there are storm winds. We have to retract it manually.

In case you can't see the image well enough, HERE is a link to its location where you will be able to zoom in on it.

Hi calvin6,
Welcome to iRV2. Consider, in the future, posting about your Newmar coach in the Newmar forum. It is located in the Owners Corner. On the main iRV2 page scroll down to find the Owners Corner and the Newmar Owners forum.

In addition to what has been posted on the awning, the awning will auto retract based on temperature as well as wind. The temperature auto retract is not adjustable. Around 32 degrees F on the low side and around 130 degrees F on the high side. These temps may seem hard to get to however, up on the roof the temps are a whole different story. I made a "shade" for my temp/wind sensor chimney. Go to Step 1 A&E Auto Retract Sensor With Reflector - iRV2.com RV Photo Gallery for the first picture. Scroll through the next 3 pictures to see what I did. It stopped the auto retracting for what seemed no reason at all.

Do you know how to turn off the auto retract feature.

On the front visor problem, all that is done to go up or down is to reverse the motor voltage. The problem could be:
1. bad motor
2. loose power wire at the switch (or any connection)
3. loose ground wire where the reversal happens

On the KVH problem, post the question in the Technology forum (close to the bottom of the main iRV2 page. The super techies hang out there.

On the slide problem, consider contacting Newmar Customer Service at 800-731-8300. Have your coach number or VIN when you call.
