No 50amp, use a dual 30amp 'cheater' plug?

Anyone ever use a 30amp 'cheater' Y plug to allow two different 30amp panels to provide 60amp power to a '50amp' plug motor coach?

My understanding in reading several products is that this 'Y' plug brings in two 30amp hot lines, similar to the two 50amp lines on your 50amp 220v breaker, providing 60 amps of power, versus the normal 100 amps with a 50amp panel.

I am in a small private rv site that only has 30amp service, with no 50amp or 20amp on the panel. My Palazzo uses a 50amp panel to run both 13.5amp air conditioners, and the other items such as micro, res fridge, tvs, etc.

We do that quit often in our volunteering. You must read 240V between the two hot leads of the sources. If it only reads 120V your system will think you are connected to 30A service. You still will have to be careful of usage if you are used to 50A.

50 amp service does contain 2 legs of 50 amps, but they share a single neutral wire. This neutral is the same gauge as either of the 50 amp hot leads. It can handle the 100 amp total because the 2 50 amp legs are 180º out of phase, thus at no instant is there any more than 50 amps in the neutral wire. If the two 30 amp outlets you propose to tap into your 50 amp cord, if the two outlets are in phase you could be overloading the neutral wire if you used near the 30 amps in each outlet.

I have 2 campgrounds where I can use my dual 30.. In most camp grounds you have a 30 and a 20 amp outlet You try to use the cheater box the 20 amp GFCI trips 100% of the time.

IN ONE campground I do not visit during the summer they only assign every other site during the hot months (AKA slow season) and they will rent you that box.

IN most campgrounds you plug into two 30 amp outlets.. You will be ask to move.. To a different campground... With no refund.
