No Inverter Com.

Hello to everyone,
Recently purchased a 2005 Damon Tuscany. I have had nothing but with the inverter. cant seem to get the remote to communicate with the inverter. I have used a short 4 wire phone cable and get it to work and then use the original cable and loose communication , change back to the short as before and it still would not communicate. I getting very frustrated .
Should I look at the inverter or the remote control head
thanks for all that refer.

Congrats on the new rig! Wish I could help with the problem. Keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Sounds like a flaky connector at one end or the other (inverter jack or remote jack). You can probably wiggle the short cable around till it works, Maybe the original as well.

It appears that the problem is in the inverter connector. As Gary suggested, insert the long cable and wiggle it while a helper uses the remote. If this shows an intermittent connection, the likely cause is a bad connection in the inverter. This means someone will need to open the inverter and resolder the connector wires, or the circuit board, if soldered directly to the board. If you are handy with a soldering iron, it is a DIY project. Be sure all power is disconnected before you begin.

Phone cable or original cable are the same. Just buy a short phone cable, or repair the ends of your original one. Harbor freight sells the crimper and connectors for cheap. Its an easy job.

Interesting about phone cords - they are wired the same on both ends; computer cables reverse the wiring at the 2nd end. What this means is that a phone cable will reverse the wiring from one end to the other - not a problem with a phone, but the inverter needs the correct wiring to work.
I had the same problem when I changed my inverter to a different brand. Remote wouldn't work til I added a connector & a second cable then the wiring was correct!
