No power from generator

Need some direction here with a 94 vectra. Getting ready to put her into service and started the Onan genset but I'm not getting any current from it. Worked fine a month ago when I did a little test drive and never had an issue before. So I shut down the generator and plugged into an outlet, heard the "thunk" in the transfer box, but also heard a buzzing from toward the front of the coach. After about 5 or 10 seconds it kicked the 15 amp breaker in my shop. Reset the breaker, waited ten minutes and tried it again, and all was fine on shore power. However, when I try the genset, I still can't get it to provide juice. Am I correct to assume I have a sticky transfer switch? But what was the buzzing noise coming from if that's the case? Thank you for any help.

Did you check the breaker(s) on the generator itself?
