No power on mountain

We own a 05 Monaco Dynasty, Cummings DP

On a recent trip had to cross the mountains (6%) in AZ and I noticed no matter what I tried the coach was slowing down. by time I reached the summit we were doing about 35MPH. Looking at the boost gauge I noticed there was no movement (on zero).

Does this mean the turbo booster is gone? or is it something else? How do I check/tell?

Thanks

When was the last time your fuel filters were changed?

Air filter?

I dont think you would be doing 35 at the top of a 6% grade, if you had no turbo boost.

Sounds like dirty fuel filters. Ide change them. If you do it yourself make sure you fill them before installing.

Yeah, I'm not saying everything is A-ok, just dont think you have 0 boost.

Do you have the Alladin system? If so, see if it is showing turbo boost.

The first thing we ever did, is change the fuel filters on a low power complaint.

The second thing is check the lift pump on Cummins engines.

If you change the filters dry, like Cummins recommends, and it starts after cycling the key for 30 seconds a few times, the lift pump and the fuel lines from the tank are good.

Next thing to look at are all the short, 2 1/2 to 3" hoses from the turbo to the intake manifold. They head towards the radatior and back. Any cuts or disconnection in them will let the boost from the turbo leak out, instead of into the intake manifold.

There are a host of issues you could have but the above ones are cheap and simple trouble shooting steps.

Thanks all for your input. one of the hoses going to the manifold has a hole in it which would explain the lose of boost. All filters were replaced six months ago. spoke to a local parts store and they are ordering the hoses for me. Thanks again
