No Power Steering

We just recently purchased a used 2002 Monaco Windsor (34) (road master chassis) and have had a few issues since purchase.

1. We recently lost all power steering. The MH did not come with any chassis diagram and we are having issues locating the hydraulic fluid compartment for starts. Would really like a full diagram for troubleshooting. Not sure where to start on this. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

2. The water pump will no longer pump to faucets. When we turn on the switch, you can here it prime, but no water will come out of faucets when turned on? Suggestions?? (Yes, there is water in the tank )

3. Exhaust Brake. This is a PacBrake and will engage, but not necessarily disengage (at least that is our assumption) causing a power degrade (obviously) to 5MPH. How can we service this ourselves or can we??

Looking forward to this forum!! As I am sure there are many many insights all if you can offer us! We are excited to be a new RV owner (we think....lol)

Thank you for your time!!

#1 - above my pay grade!

#2, is there a bypass for winterizing that might be set wrong?

#3 I had that problem with our '02 DSDP, once I got the special high temp lube and used it on the exhaust brake the problem went away.

#1 OUr 1998 Windsor has a big hydraulic drum just inside the engine compartment from the rear. It also powers the hydraulic cooling fan. If the fan is running properly, not much left except the power steering unit.

#3 On our 1998 Windsor, a wiring short caused the brake lights to stay on, which activated the Pac Brake.

We had this occur twice since. Once was a mis-wired trailer. Once was me driving with my foot on the Pac Brake pedal!

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Congrats on the new rig! Keep her between the ditches!

The hydraulic fluid reservoir on our Windsor is a large tank in the engine compartment, on the right side as you're looking in. You may have thrown a belt on the power steering pump.

It sounds like you may have a defective water pump.

The PacBrake should disengage when you either turn off the switch or step on the throttle. PacBrake makes a special lubricant that you should use on a regular basis. I do it once a year when doing the yearly maintenance service on the engine.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Just lubed mine, had to pull the mirrors floor rail and floor. Lube all moving parts remove air line about 5-6 drops in hose and replace.

No water

How many taps did you try? My rv had been in Az when I bought it used. The quality of water must have been atrocious as it had a lot of scale causing the screen on the faucet itself to plug up on the bathroom sink and the kitchen sink.
