Make sure the 12 volt (Both leads) is good, I would attach test lamps to be sure.. Double check your grounds.

Hook that test lamp between 12 volt leads and the radio chassis.

By posting under "no power" forum I think I have created some confusion. I have power to the radio and checkin with ohmmeter shows good ground. I just thought the old Jensen was just worn out and wanted to upgrade to CD anyway. When I hooked new radio up it lit up just for a few seconds and now nothing. Didn't blow any fuses so I am assuming something is creating an overload or internal short. If the Jenson XCC8000 has a reset I can't find it and don't want to risk ruining another new radio until I isolate the problem. Left front speaker wire was only partially connected and corroded but that's all I have found. A trip to a radio install shop may be on the horizon

You can test each speaker from the multi-plug that connects in the back of the radio. An Ohm meter or any small portable radio and a 1/8" plug with the earphone cut off and the wires stripped can be hooked up to each pair of speaker wires.

Don't feel bad about all the off topic suggestions, I've found many people post without reading original or previous posts, often stating what has already been suggested.
