So yesterday I was about to leave on a trip and started up my 2005 Itasca Horizon 40ad and the signal lights, brake lights, docking lights all don't work. So I went to the fuse panel for the chassis and there's no burnt out fuses, and none of the pop out breakers are tripped. Given that a bunch of lights aren't working, I have to believe its a common power supply issue - maybe a primary breaker. But I cannot find it or figure it out. Does anyone have any ideas?

OK - so I just went through everything and brake lights ARE working.

So here's what's not working:
- signal lights
- headlights
- fog lights
- docking lights
- hazards

Brake lights ARE actually working. . .

Don't have a solution for you but from a trouble shooting stad point attack the biggest first. Head lights. They are a heavy user.
They may be on some type of relay. Look for that firsy.
Seldom are all lights on a single fuse source. But relays are a different story.
I assume it starts and runs ok.
No switches on control panel for aux batteries etc?

Do you have a " Smart Wheel " ?

If your brake lights are a different bulb at the rear of the coach than the signals , then you could have a bad connection at the base of the steering column for the signal switch that would also effect hazard lights . If the dimmer switch is wired in to the same connector that's a possible too.
The fog lights won't work till the headlights do.
Do any of the park ( running / marker ) lights work ?

Have you contacted Freightliner ; with your serial number; for wiring diagrams and schematics.

Not knowing what all you have checked but if it is from Freightliner I would start with the major distribution panel where the 12 volt battery lines ( House and Chassis) are received. There you will find a bunch of multi-breakers for major applications. The back of the front cover should have the labeling for all the breakers and large fuses. From that point there will be feeds for one and or more fuse locations. in the dash area you should find a fuse bar for House battery lines as well as a bar for chassis battery. The lights you are missing should be on the chassis battery bar and the bar should come from the distribution panel. The AC fuses bar from the distribution panel will most likely be in the front compartment.

I have a different chassis(Spartan), but I had a similar problem while on a trip. Good Sam ERS sent out a man from a HDT & bus repair shop. He looked for about an hour and finally-by accident, discovered a connection terminal on the firewall that had loose nuts on the terminal studs.
This is where all 12V power for instrumentation and lighting is split off from main cable from battery bank.

OK,
Had to head out of town and finally got back to look at this.

When I got back the chassis battery was almost completely dead - 10.7 V. The batteries were old and so I went and replaced them. What do you know - everything is back working. Very very odd to say the least. I'm wondering if the batteries were just so completely dead they caused issues . . .

I've seen bad battery in a car give some very strange symptoms due to a lot of the electronics. Such as step on brake and engine dies.
