No SiriusXM radio

Just purchased a 2018 Berkshire 34QS. The dash screen has navigation, radio, XM, etc built into the radio. I am wondering why I cannot get a signal to even get the serial number to sub- scribe. I recall reading somewhere that an adaptor is needed. Freightliner chassis. Has anyone else experienced the problem?

There are radios with XM built in and others that are XM Ready, meaning they have a place to plug in the external module. Try Googling your radio’s model number and check the features.

Yes an XMSirius radio means it has the ability to have a XMSirius module plugged into the radio. The radio is ready to display the interface with the XMSirius module.

When installing the XMSirius module, the puck antenna also needs to be installed.

I had ordered the XMSirius module when I ordered my motorhome but the factor screwed up the installation of the antenna. I decided to mount the antenna inside the roof instead of making a hole in the roof. I have it just a couple of inches from the front edge of the roof cap. Worked fine except in New Brunswick where the mass of the motorhome was between the antenna and the satellite.

I appreciate your help. Will chk model # tomorrow. I wonder if FR would have a build record indicating what type radio is installed. Do they sell what I need or do I need to be looking at third parties? [emoji16]

Almost all the radios installed in motorhomes are XMSirius ready.

The module with antenna is SXV300v1, Amazon $35.

The challenge is the install if you want to tackle it. Biggest job is getting the antenna up over the windshield, down the windshield post and across the dash. Pop the radio out find the XMSirius cable, plug it into the SXV300 and the antenna into it. Then follow the instructions for registration to get your free months and pick the subscription package you want.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Congrats on the new rig! I can't add to what others have suggested. Keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
