A while ago I wrote about a problem with my water heater-no hot water when I turned on faucet. With the help of the forum I decided to change the check valve.
My unit is a 2001 Winnebago Itasca Horizon 36 ft. I found a broken check valve on the cold water side of the heater. Behind the water heater is a terrible location to access, I followed the line and installed a new check valve about six feet away, nothing between the heater and check valve (in the water compartment) easy access. I now have hot and cold water on demand.

#1 Now every time I flush the toilet there is a noise Sounds like the water pump running for a few seconds or a vibration in the water lines.
I have checked for vibration and found none, the water pump is not on at this time. I have found when I switch the system to water heater bypass- the noise disappears. I am wondering if there is such a thing as turbulance or air in the water heater causing this noise.

#2 When I am using the motor home water pump the pump cycles, once every 10 minutes. No evidence of a leak.

ANY IDEAS ????

I don't know if this will help, but when I had a noise every time I turned the water on, some thought it was air in the pipes. It might have been part of the problem, but I went out and changed my water pressure regulator and it fixed it. It was just a guess on my part.

Maybe it is just air in your pipes. Have you tried running it for a while to see if it will get out? Seems to me I saw something on this a while back. If I can find it, I'll post it. Good luck.

This may give you some ideas. I have a knocking in my house so had done some research recently and came upon this info from an RVer. I read this on one site "Get you a bucket of any size. Go outside with this bucket, and use the hose as you do to make the noise, then turn the hose into the bucket. Mark the time it takes to fill the bucket. Go inside, using the same bucket, place it under your bath faucet and turn on the cold water - -wide open. Mark the time it takes to fill the bucket at that point. I'm betting the bucket gets filled sooner with the outside faucet/hose. That means more volume coming through the outside hose bibb vs. the bath faucet. Therefore: the volume of water/velocity of water is greater with the outside faucet, which gives you the noise of water rushing through pipes. Just my 2¢ worth, David"

When you run ground water dose you main water tank increase/decrease? Maybe your auto change over valve from pump too ground water is bypassing.Dirt piece of stone etc. Just a thought something else to think about.

Most likely because you left the other check valve in place... bet your WH bypass is before the old check valve, correct?

There is a check valve in the water pump. The purpose of this valve, is to keep water from running into the tank and overflowing, when hooked up to a faucet. If your water pump is coming on every few minutes and runs for only runs a few seconds, this is called cycling. It is caused by this valve leaking. The best way to fix this is to replace the pump. If the pump is less than two years old, it will be under warrenty. For your #1 problem, you can install a air chamber in the line. these are called accumealator tanks. the ones with the rubber bladder are best.
