Noisy A/C units

I have a new (2014) Class A with two rooftop AC units. They are extremely noisy! I asked my dealer if there were other brands available that would create less noise. They said no - had for me to believe or maybe there is a new business opportunity? Any ideas or comments?

If you would post which RV you have and the brand of AC's you might get some help.

I'm assuming you have late model Coleman Mach 8 low profile A/C units. You can replace the condensor fans (on your nickel) for quieter models with fewer fan blades. Contact the manufacturer for details and pricing.

Given my experience with Dometic Penguin units...I would assume that. LOL

I would agree on the Penguin statement. We bought a 07 Newmar this spring. It has the original Penguin in front, and a new replacement Penguin in the back. The newer one in the bedroom is twice as loud as the old unit in the front.

Of course...I meant, "I WOULDN'T assume that." Reference DGPokes comment that is EXACTLY what we have had happen and in less than 2 years we have had the front AC replace 5 times!

I just did this myself on both of mine as they are Mach 8's. If they are the Mach 8's they sell a batwing style fan blade to replace the originals. It also has a small metal bracket in the kit. They are very easy to install and only require a screwdriver for tools. The metal bracket is peel and stick.
