Norcold 1200 LR FOUR DOOR FRIDGE

I have a Norcold 1200 LR four door fridge in my 99 Monaco Windsor, works great on AC, doesn't get as cold on propane, runs about 10 degrees warmer. 50 degree on propane, 40 degree on AC on the coldest settings, is thi normal or is there something I need to do?
Thanks

I would take a guess the LP burner needs adjusting, I normally experience better cooling on LP. Some "helper" fixes on this forum like adding circulation fans both inside and on the rear of the unit will help. My Norcold is mounted in the slide and that seems to be more of a ventilation problem than a roof vented unit. The picture below is a homemade fan set in the bottom vent to move more air up and out, helped considerably.

Yes I agree. It needs adjusting or cleaning.

Off the subject those fans need to be at the top to draw the hot air out.

I had the same problem. Dave Force at RV Cooling Unit Warehouse told me to take the orifice off the end of the LPG line, soak it in 91% alcohol for a few hours, then blow it out good with compressed air. You would not believe the crud that came out of that thing! Problem solved!

The Norcold upper fans take care of that. I have changed the thermostat on those from the original "on" at 130 degrees to "on" at 80 degrees, they basically run constantly any time the ambient is over 75 degrees. I also closed off the upper louver of the lower vent to stop "short cycling" air it now all goes up and out the top vent even without the top fans running.

I have a remote temp sensor on the middle shelf and am realizing as low as 33 and rarely 40 with afternoon Sun on that side unless it goes into defrost mode. Just added a David Force fan system to the in cabinet cooling fins which will reduce the need to allow the defrost cycle. The defrost cycle is automatic every 49 hours, turning the unit off momentary resets time cycle, avoiding the cycle and slow recovery.
