Norcold 2101 ice maker

For those who's first response is "do a search", I did several searches and most posts go back to 2008+- and the most recent is 14. Last year the ice maker was leaking bad and I replaced it with an aftermarket one off amazon. Less than a year later it quit due to corrosion. Yes I keep doors open when not in use but we completed a 4 month trip and it ran and worked nicely until just before the end of the trip. It did required defrosting a couple times during that trip.

So, past posts refer to Whirlpool part ECKM94, Lowe's part 57773, but that part apparently is no longer available. Old price was $49 and currently offered versions are around $100. Amazon has the Norcold version priced $160-225+. Lowes has 3 or 4 Whirlpool replacement ice makers with different part numbers and none refer to the old 57773# as current version.

Since ice maker replacement in these "fine" refers is an ongoing issue, what is the best, most cost effective replacement available? I am going to pull the ice maker and take to Lowe's and see which is closest. Thanks in advance.

Just got back from Lowe's and there was an ice maker, $49, that physically is the same. The wiring connector is different but that's an easy fix. Model was IM116000. I watched a youtube video last night that addressed the same issue. I'll watch again and see how they handled it. Kit also included water valve, hoses, etc. The ice bucket is too big but my original one is fine.

I did the same this this past spring, ice maker dripped down the side and froze. I replaced it with a Lowes $49.00 one, same problem. I discovered that I had 2 problems.

1- ice maker not level
2- too much water going into tray

I leveled it and adjusted the water flow, now works fine

operational check update

Moved the coach to it's level parking pad and fired up the refer and ice maker. The next morning there is half a bucket of ice and all is good. Repair for a fraction of the price gouging Norcold ice maker costs.

The one I bought at Lowes for my 1200 was $99, but the wiring fit. Had to trim the water inlet box on one side for the fill tube to go in.
