Norcold 4 door frig. not coming on
My Norcold 4 door fridge will not come on. I believe it is a 12v problem because I have 120 volts to the unit. Just guessing. When I press the on/off button on the front nothing happens......no lights, nothing !
I will thank you in advance if anyone has a suggestion.

Are these retrofit units? If so there will be a little box somewhere in the back with a red light and a circuit board

The retretrofit box will block power to the unit in case of an overheating situation. It will also block power if it gets wet. The red light will come on of this is the casr.

There is a reset procedure that involves a strong magnet

Thanks for the info Dr. It worked. The "Dreaded Red Light" went off and the controls are up and running.

Now the REAL question IS:
WHY the RECALL BOX tripped??
Was it due to 'high temp' sensor (700*F setting.....in case of OVERHEATING issue)
Was it due to 'glitch' with Recall Box (which Version of Box do you have?)
Was it due to getting WET (washing rig, heavy rain storm etc)

Yes, that is the question. This RV is new to me so it's the first time I've tried to turn the frig on. I'll be back on here if it happens again and if I know the reason.

heatseeker and Arricejr, after you get your Norcold running, you may be interested in perusing this site (ARP Thermal Limit switch):
https://www.arprv.com/norcold-1200-series-recall.php
I added the ARP for peace of mind, even though the Norcold recall work had been performed. Given Norcold/Thetford track record and the consequent class action suit, I would not trust our safety to their "fix." Just my opinion as YMMV.

I agree with Sandy. After a couple of times the device tripping, the last time it never would reset with the magnet is when I replaced it with the ARP unit. Mine would trip when I washed the rig and water would get in the compartment. When I put the ARP unit in, I took a piece of plastic about 4-5" ling and covered up that part of the cover. Been there for a while, washed the rig and working great.
