Well, our excitement in picking up our 2006 HR Navigator quickly became the "Oh no" moment today. After going over the coach for almost 3 days, a very thorough PDI, test drives, and having an outside rv repair guy we trust look it over, we pulled the trigger this morning. We pulled out of the dealership, got on the highway and headed North. Excited, laughing and loving it's ride . until the CHECK ENGINE light comes on. Omg!!! We are only 7 miles up the road!!! The Aladdin diagnostics screen is showing what appears to be normal readings, engine temp 190, transmission temp 185...called the dealer, they immediately dispatched one of their service techs, who drove it back to the dealer. . Dang light didn't come back on until it got almost back to dealer... Go figure. As we pulled in, the bedroom smoke detector starts screaming "fire, fire,... No smoke or fire anywhere... At this point my DW is in tears, as this is her dream coach.... Dealer has it now and is taking it to have diagnostics run in morning... Not worried about the coach really, just gotta get the DW off the ledge lol!! Anyone have any thought as to what the light might suggest??

My very first trip we had a check engine light come on. I wasn't freeking to much LOL stopped and put some fuel in. It turned out to be the fuel cap (how do these things know that stuff)

Hey on my first trip with my first motorhome I was rear ended by a tractor trailer. Things are going to happen, parts will break and it can get frustrating but you have a beautiful, well built, comfortable motorhome there which will give you years of enjoyment. Just remember "there are no problems, only solutions".

We traded in our perfectly good and well liked (by the DW at least) '02 DSDP for the Magna. Less storage space by about 30% even though 5' or so longer.
Drive to Phoenix and back, 2,600 miles and the engine started running rough and the check engine light came on.
Turns out one of the valves in #6 broke (again it turns out). That was a $33,000 repair although Cummins did pay about $10,400 of it. So a $22,000 bill to us. Oh yes, the shop broke both drive axle shocks and an interior door as well as leaving scratches in the interior. Naturally they won't take responsibility for any of it.
Anyway, we have since found out that it's the second time it's dropped a valve in #6 and it's now on it's third turbo also in 45,000 miles!
DW is NOT happy with the rig's engine reliability but does like the rest of it.
Cummins knows that the 2007 EPA ISX 650 and 600's are not reliable and claims they have fixed it with new heads, valves and turbo, but I'm not yet convinced!
It is a wonderfully powerful engine and the fuel mileage (7.6 over 45,000 miles) is good for a 50,000# rig towing a van.

Ouch Mr._D, I can't imagine getting news like thst!!! Makes my check engine light seem minor!!! I'd hate to have to break that news to the DW!!!

As has been suggested,
It's MAN MADE and, anything man made, CAN BREAK! Now, just how soon and, how often, remains to be seen. Some get away with months or more after taking possession of a new or, newer coach without any issues. Some, like yourself, have issues as the tires roll off the driveway where the vehicle was purchased.

It's most likely nothing real serious. Just about every thing on todays coaches is either operated by, or, contains some form of a computer. So, computers often screw up. So, hopefully your new coach just has a few glitches and, will be taken care of promptly. Keep us informed of the situation.,

The manufacturers should include a "do not disturb" switch for all the IMO overly complex engine stuff. My old rig doesn't bother me with lights and warnings. It goes or it doesn't. The newer stuff sure is pretty though.

We did get a service contract, but dealer is taking care of it. Turned out to be the ECM module. They took it to Cummins and that was the code that showed up. Should get it back by Tuesday...
