There is an Overland owners group, but no forum.

Overland Odessa

Hi all,

I initiated a request to form the Overland (Group, Forum, etc.) several months ago. When the Overland Owners Group was announced, it was my assumption that the a Forum would naturally follow. Not so fast!! The IRV2 Support people tell me that they can not support a real dedicated Overland "forum" with the low level of likely participants know by them at this time. I questioned their reasoning, but to no avail. My suggestion is that we all join the owners group, and keep in touch in this or similar later threads.

I have information for those of you who would like to "meet up" the Overland Group at the FMCA Rally in Perry, GA.

I don't want to put Chucks contact info into an open post, but if you contact me via e-mail or Private Message here, I'll get you the information you need.
My email is don"at"tvformyrv.com

Sincerely,
Don Sweger

First post

I have owned my Overland for 4 years now, and when I first purchased it I looked all over the internet for other owners / groups / and forums and I like most of you found the old website that had shut down. So I was very happy today when I found this group, I joined the IRV2 just to become a member of the Overland Owners Group.
It seems that this thread is the only place that we can all come to share info. and tech help specifically for Overland Coaches. Unless there is a place that I have yet to discover, if100_0258.jpg so let me know.

Here is a shot on our way back from Durango a couple of years ago, the first time that I towed the Jeep.
I would love to see some shots of your rigs.

Wsm1788,

Welcome aboard. As you already know, the known ownership of Overlands is small. Finding other owners is tough. Glad to have another.
The IRV2 forum has a vast collective knowledge about rv's. You can find the answer to just about any issue here.

Your rig looks a lot like ours, right down to the aluminum rims. Our water heater is on the passenger side, we have a 25' awning down the side and awnings over all the windows and the door.

Be sure to go to the top of the page, click on thread tools and subscribe to this thread. That way you can always get back here.

Here is a link to pics of ours just after we got it.

Odessa Overland

I wish we were going to be able to join everyone in Perry, but we have another long trip planned for this year, and two long trips from CA aren't in the cards. It is nice that we are attracting more Overland owners to the group, maybe one day soon we'll have enough for our own Overland Forum. Picture of our 1998 4141 attached.

Mine looks to be the little brother of the group, by the way just FYI the headlights in the '98 model are taken from a 1995 - 1997 F250 Ford truck so if you ever need to replace them or the bulbs, they are available at any local auto parts.
Take a look at this, I was in New Orleans a couple of years ago and parked next to my rig was this other Overland. I should have left a note, but at the time I did not realize how few 019.JPGand far between Overland's are.

FMCA Ralley

I too will be unable to attend, I have kids still in school and their spring break is the week before, at which time we were planning to head up to Branson.
So if anyone has any recommendations for this area, I would appreciate it.

I tried to post some pictures like wsm1788 requested but cannot figure out how to resize them so our avatar will have to do for now. Since we traded our gas winne right after Thanksgiving for the overland we have had lots of surprises. We bought it as a 2000 and when I got the title to the highway department they told me it was a 1999. Buying an older unit we expected a few problems but so far we have had to replace all the batteries, replace the pump for the jacks, and replace the radiator. Ready to stop working on it and take a trip. Sorry the Perry, GA dates do not work for us but we will be at the Myrtle Beach Rally in September at site I-61. Hope to get to meet some of the other Overland Owners Group members there!
