Oh My Goodness It Is Hot
So it hit 112° the day we were packing for a quick trip to Southern California. Looking forward to getting away from the heat ended in disappointment when it was 106° when we pulled into Lake Elsinore.
Both ACs worked great, as did the Generator. I always wondered if our 35' coach really needed two ACs. It didn't. It needs three  Two are barely adequate. I do now have confidence in how everything will perform in less extreme conditions.

Yup ... we were in Pomona 2 days ago (getting hot) and now in Morro Bay ... mid 60's .... nice !!

I think I would have pulled and all nighter and landed in Lake city, CO 80 as the high and mid 40's tonight.
Lake Elsinore I think I might have stayed there one winter after visiting the Nation RV Factory.
Enjoy the time on the lake - just great to get away.

Not the OP but most of Los Angeles area east to the border. For instance, Palm Springs was around 114 and will go to 112 today. Lake Elsinore (higher elevation and further north) is expected to be around 93. These temps are about 15 -20 above normal.

Staying West of Vegas in Pahrump, Nv. Yesterday high around 108, early morning t sunrise maybe 75. When the 2 ACs kick in they do not go off until late night. Figure they be running about 16 hours daily. Reefer is struggling to keep below 40, doors not open any longer than necessary. End of next week forcast calling for maybe 10 to 15 degrees less.....Happy Travels!!

Try this, and I have no idea what kind of unit you have, but it's worth mentioning.
During the day, close your bedroom slides, and maybe even one slide up front. Close the vents in the bedroom and bathroom, close the door between the front living space and back living space, keep all shades closed.
At night, reverse that. Closing all vents up front, opening the bedroom vents.
It really does help.

Friday touched triple digits at 100 degrees here in Escondido, just north of San Diego. Summer is headed our way! But I will take the heat over snow and cold, thank you. (-:
As for Lake Elsinore. Have been there a couple three times. Nice, but does get hot though. Good food at a local cafe on a corner on the way to the couple RV parks there, don't recall the name.
As three vs two AC units. Our orevious coaches had two, just got by sometimes. The Phaeton has three - much better.

The manufacturers prefer to paint new rigs black or dark colors, makes cooling even more difficult.

We only got to 97° yesterday, supposed to be about the same today. That might be a new record high so early in the year. But I didn't even turn the heat pumps on in the MH. That's because we were at home and the stick house has air con! I've been trying to finish polishing the rig and it's just too hot to be working in that temp for me.

I have not used ours in the extreme conditions. But definitely notice a difference when we do cover the windshield on the exterior and have the curtain pulled. Temps in the 90's and sun directly on windshield.

Exterior shades and window covers -YES. Especially a cover on the front window. Makes a big difference. Allows 2 acs in our 38 footer to cool nicely, even above 100.
