Oil Pressure Question

We have 1999 Monaco Diplomat with the 5.9 ISB engine and it has 35,000 miles on it, bought it 7 years ago with 24,000 miles and the oil pressure has always read between 20-25 psi on the gauge weather hot or cold, at idle or driving 60 mph (gauge. is 0-80 psi)

I have never really worried about it to much, but was changing the oil and started wondering about it again. Could this be a sending unit problem?

Engines I have been around vary somewhat in oil pressure. Cold thick oil vs. hot thin oil and different engine RPMs should effect engine oil pressure.

Doesn't sound right to me. My varies more than that depending on if the engine is cold or hot or at idle or at cruising speed.

i verified with cummins and my isc does it... when cold or accelerating, it's 75 psi; when cruising on a flat road, it's 50; when idle, it's 25.

If this is a electric gauge, then it's really no better than a idiot light.

install a REAL Mechanical gauge to see what you really have.
I'd be very surprised to see it that low.
