Why are so many units called Chris Peeler Specials if he's just a salesman for one dealer?

I see it as a sales ploy, Oh look honey a Chris Peeler edition!!!! A who, what edition? Or it could mean that they have a guy named Chris that likes to peel things, like paint and wall paper!!! I just know I won't pay extra for it...LOL
