Older Tiffin vs new other brand

Itís time to move up from my class c. Iím doing my research before the Tampa show. I know there are some good new deals to be had but also know post show there is some good used inventory around.

The wish list is 32-36ish gas, ideally fiberglass roof, decent size shower, Mid TV floor plan cost $90-110k.

We love Tiffins but I canít justify the new price tag. I realize the budget range puts me somewhere between 2014-2016 model year Tiffin. So Iím weighing options on a lower quality (at least my perception) new class A at that range or find the best preloved Tiffin I can find.

BTW I live in FL so Iím in the middle of some super size dealers with lots of new and preowned inventory.

Thanks to all for your valued opinions.

You won't go wrong with the Tiffin and certainly should do better than a new cheaply made rig.

OH and welcome to the forum.

You really should include the Newmar Baystar to your shopping list. Personally, I'd go with the Baystar over a Tiffin gasser.

Personally, I'd buy a used Newmar or Tiffin before buying a lesser quality new motor home. With that budget, you should have quite a few choices!

Both Tiffen and Newmar are great choices, so check them out and see if you have a preference based upon build quality and floor plan, options, etc. Since you are looking for a gasser, you'll be able to find one that's just a few years old. You may want to spend a little less than you have and keep some money in reserve for modifications to the suspension such as Sumo springs, after market sway bars, steering stabilizer, etc. to improve the road handling. And, you may find one where the owner has already made improvements.

Good luck and I hope you are enjoying a motor home soon!

This past spring we were shopping for a gas coach. With our budget it was looking like no newer than a 2016 Tiffin or Newmar. After shopping local for 3 months, we found a 2018 34PA at a Tiffin dealer in next state priced less than what our local dealer wanted for a 2016.

Dealer pricing varies. If you buy from a dealer that deeply discounts new coaches from msrp, their used trade-ins will be priced accordingly.

Know your prices and options and don't be afraid to travel if the right deal comes along.

As others have said, check out both Newmars and Tiffins. We did, and we ended up with a Tiffin because we liked the floor plan better. You need to stay in anything you are considering for quite a while. Sit on the toilet, climb in the shower, bring the slides in x can you still get to the bathroom and refrigerator? Do you like glitz or not? Think of where all your “stuff” will go - is there room to spare (because you will add more)? Both rigs used would be a better deal than a new less well built rig.
