It is a 30 amp coach with an ONAN 5500 gen. I cranked the gen, I do not have power to the microwave, however, the AC came on fine. Should the generator supply 120 to the outlets? Can both AC's run off the generator, i have had differing opinions, i haven't tried it yet for fear of messing something up.

Pop, your ECC/Intellitec manages power from your genny and will allow you to run both A/Cs. Make sure both of your circuit breakers on your genny are ON.

From the Cummins/Onan manual:

Quote:
Air conditioner starting: One 13500 Btu air
conditioner with 3000 W base load or two 11000 Btu air
conditioners with 1500 W base load at 100 F (38 C) at
500 ft (152.4 m) elevation
My coach has a 5500 Onan and runs both A/C units just fine with the ECC/Intellitec. Don't let anyone tell you you can't, because they just don't understand how these coaches were designed.

Microwave should always have power either from the genny or shore. Check circuit breakers and make sure it is plugged in Pop.

Fleetwood generally wires the ECC to power the FRONT air conditioner from the 20amp generator breaker (through a small transfer switch) and the REAR air conditioner, plus the remaining 120vac circuits (appliances and outlets), from the 30amp generator breaker. The PDF explains that pretty well.

The generator circuit breakers are located on the right hand side of the unit, just out of sight around the corner.

The generator will run both air conditioners simultaneously very easily.

By The Way - some shedding, while on the generator, is still possible because the loads on the main breaker (and the generator 30amp breaker) are still being monitored by the ECC. Re-starting an air conditioner with head pressure sometimes takes a couple of tries, so just give it time. It should work fine.

Fleetwood uses the shed system so that a 30 amp system will power two AC's. that is the whole idea behind the shed system. He has a 30 amp coach.
When on the gen. power, he has more amps and can run both AC's
