Onan 7500 diesel shut down

During a 3K trip in Oct with 750 miles to go on start up in the am the gen shut down after about 3 minuites. It would immediately restart and shut down. Tried it a number of times but would not continue running. The next morning brought MH to repair shop ,told them the problem. A couple of days they advised gen ran continuously for hours on two separate days. Two weeks ago took MH on exercise trip gen ran for an hour before I turned it off for about an hour. Restarted and on way home after about 15 min.shut down, restarted ran about 10 min then same again until parked for about half hour then it ran for an hour. Yesterday drove MH for an hour ran ok shut off approx 15 min. then would run exactly 5 min before shut down repeatedly Then after about 15min restarted and ran for 3hours before I turned it off.
FYI 1500 hrs, filters changed every 50 to 75 hrs. Oil full, water full, fuel tank full, no indication of overheat, tried running with and without electrical load,120v steady output.....sounds like one of the sensors is intermitant..... any suggestions......

Look in the owners/operating manual and it will give you problem codes based on how many times the gen. light blinks.

I had the same exact problem... it was only a 1/2 qt low on oil... in a car or truck that is "normal"..... apparently, it must be exactly FULL..... only holds three quarts and 1/2 a qt low will shut it off... sensor inside to detect oil level..... check level with coach level... top it off to be sure it's full and retry?

Without the code it is difficult to tell. I can tell you that our Onan 7500 does not like to run with no loads.

If running without a load (no A/C and batteries fully charged) it will shut down with a code that basically says rpms were too low.

Don't know if that is your issue. I always look at it as "there is no work for me to do" shut down and do not worry about it.
