Smile Onan 7500 generator sensor

We have a 2002 Monaco Knight and the generator will only run for 5 minutes after being shut off. We were told a sensor needs to be replaced. Unfortunately, the sensor is located in the back of the generator. Anyone have any easy method to get to the sensor? The shop says it will cost 4-5 hundred dollars just to remove the generator. Brake lines and other parts must be moved out of the way. Anyone know how to get to the sensor easier? Thanks.
