Onan Generator HRS

Looking at a 2005 Travel Supreme Select. It is an all Electric Coach. It has 55k miles on it. The Onan 12.5KW diesel generator has 2300 HRS on it. Does that seem like a lot of hours for an 11 year old coach? What is the life expectancy of one of those generators.

Can much be found out from an oil analysis done on a diesel with just a few miles on it since it's last oil change?

Thanks ahead of time for all of your feedback!!

20 - 25,000 hours is not unreasonable on a diesel generator. They like to be used.
Doing an oil test wouldn't tell you much if anything. They need to have been run for many hours/miles.

Let's see...11 years into 2300 hours means just over 200 hours per year or less than an hour per day. They used the generator some, but not all of the time. I'd agree. For a diesel, if they kept up on the preventative maintenance, it is just broken in.

Ours is an 05 model and the 10K generator just turned 3700 hrs. The maintenance on these is very important. The belts, slip rings, etc should be checked on a regular basis. Check the maintenance records carefully.
