Onan generator problem.
Testing out generator and tried to run air and microwave at same time. The generator died and will now not start and is not getting any gas.
We have checked the 5 amp fuse and reset the circuit breaker. Still nothing.
Is there any other fuse/ circuit breaker that could have been tripped?
We previously had fuel supply issues and replaced the pump and filter. It was working great until we decided to see what could be run on it.

Hello the4scotts
On our 2004 7500 watt generator there is a blinking light that blinks the code.
Codes would be possibly on the genny or in the manual.
Hope this helps. And good luck.

Also check your gas level in couch most generators will not pick up gas if main tank is below 1/4

Fault codes are a newer thing. The old generators, like my 1999 don't have lights or codes to read.
He may not either.
Check the oil. Low oil may shut the fuel pump off, giving you your problem.

Pull off the gas line end and crank it over. Should be a nice little flow into the bucket. No flow no go. Fault codes can sometimes be a little vague, this test says it all for gas concern. Maybe fuel pump, again??? Report back and we can continue.......

No gas flow when disconnected. It's an older unit with no fault codes. Oil level is good, gas tank level good. Fuel pump has about 2 hours on it. Just replaced it 2 days ago and ran fine til too much of a load was put on it.

I don't think the load on Gen has anything to do with it. The fuel pump when running only knows one speed and just pumps away. Could filter be plugged or junk in the fuel tank? Maybe test to confirm power at the fuel pump, did it make any noise? Hard to imagine it is bad but.....

We jumped the fuel pump with a wire and it pumps fuel but really sufficient. So thinking maybe something is clogged now. Grrr has been so frustrating!
