Opinion of Boque State Park in LA

Reposting from Camping page where I received no response..

Granddaughter getting married March 5 in Franklinton, LA. This park appears to be close. What is the good, bad , and ugly. Typical weather first week of March???

I've not been there in years, but it used to be OK. Here is a link to its review(s):

Be aware, Mardi Gras DAY is Tuesday March 4, 2014, so reservations may be your only hope of staying anywhere in SE LA.

My family and I have camped there a couple times in the past few months and plan to return soon. We love it there as we love most of Louisiana's state parks. It's a relatively new park (compared to most) and only the "upland" camping area has paved roads. This is where we usually stay. The "bottomland" is nice also as it's near the river and a couple nice size ponds. Beware, the bottoms land is subject to flooding! (Some sites directly on the ponds with nice little piers-not good if you have a toddler with you)

Great place to stay and by far the best place to stay in the area!!
