I am in the process of purchasing a 2005 Chinook Ealge w/a Ford 350 chassis, very low miles. I also just learned that Chinook is no longer in business. Should this be a concern for me? I welcome any comments on the Chinook in general...!

I have no idea what your source of information is, but it appears to me that Chinook is healthy and still in business. Check out www.chinookrv.com/chinook_diff.html.
We checked them out several years ago and decided we preferred trailers to motorhomes. We were impressed with the quality of the Chinook, but the prices seemed high compared to others of similar construction.

Thanks for your response...I had contacted "La Mesa RV", a fairly large company,to ask them the difference between a Chinook Eagle and a Chinook Premier, the the people there told me Chinook had gone out of business due to a death in the family...I had been trying to access the website, www.chinookrv.com, and it would not work, so I thought it kind of made sense, but I tried your link and it did give me info, so I will try and contact them tomorrow. Thanks!!

What did you find out about Chinook? I too was understanding that they had gone out of business.
We owned a 1996 Chinook that I put 90,000 miles on before trading in for a larger rig. It was the best build motorhome of the five that I have owned. We really like the ability to travel the back roads and go any where with out having to tow. I never hear of the Eagle, ours was the concourse model.

Unfortuntely Chinooks are now orphans

The parent co. Trail Wagons Inc. of Yakima, WA, went into receiveship because of defaulting on a multi-million dollar loan last year.

In March of this year (2006) Trail Wagon's land and buildings were sold in foreclosure for 2.9 million to a collection agency that represented Trail Wagon's mortgage lender.

The webmaster only seems to have taken down the main index and has not cleaned up the the rest of the pages yet. Maybe they are hoping someone will bring it back.

New Chinook website: www.chinookrv.com

Chinook Countryside (introduced in 2016) and the all new 2017 Chinook Bayside are currently coming off the production line on the Sprinter chassis. The Chinook Glacier along with the iconic Chinook Concourse and even the Chinook Baja 4x4 will be reintroduced in the near future, all on Ford E-350/E-450 platforms.

There's even talk of bringing back a Toyota Chinook.
