Order of filters and Water Softner

I am moving my water softner from outside to being built in. That being said, does anyone have opinion on the in-line order? The softner before or after the whole house filter? Of course when it was outside the water sofener was before. Or does it just not matter. (Over thinking on my part).

Wish I had the room to do the same. I would put the inline filter first and then the softener.

In line filter first and use a charcoal/carbon filter

It will reduce the chlorine levels that deteriorate your cation resin in the softener

Softeners act as filters also

I use a 75 GPD RO to fill my water tank

Softening reduces calcium, magnesium and iron but doesn't remove any anions

Soft water is certainly better for the hot water heater and fixtures

Filter first, just like a house.

The order I use is 5 micron particulate filter first, followed by a carbon filter before the water softener.

We use a 3 filter under cabinet Hahn system and works very well. You can definitely taste the difference in the water. We only have it hooked up to a water tap in the kitchen. We didn't have the space for an RO system and not sure if they are worth the space

Sediment filter, then charcoal filter, water softener and then into the coach.
