Our 2013 "Southeast" World Trip - ScanGauge-D Update

Drove the coach from FL-GA-SC-AL-TN-FL (2550 mile, 5-week trip), visited many lakes including Lake Greenwood Motor Coach Resort, SC; Lake Guntersville, AL (Windemere Cove RV Resort); McFarland Park, AL on Pickwick Dam Lake, TN; Watts Bar Lake near Kingston, TN; and finally Florida Grande Resort in Webster, FL before arriving back home in SW FLA.

I can tell you now we've travelled close to 15,000 miles in this coach so far and the Cummins ISM-500 sure is a great engine and dittos for the tag axle on this Coach... I pass 53' semi's climbing the TN mountains and don't notice any side sway when one passes my coach.

I added a Scangauge-D when in GA, but had some issues with its readout...finally back home I noticed the CAT-5 style plug has a bare wire showing, so will get a replacement from them shortly.

Pulled a couple of Fault codes which could point to the oil leakage through the Jake Brake plug harness on the front of the engine...so the ScanGauge-D seems to have paid for itself already.

Also, I monitored fuel consumption with the genny running during a leg of the trip and got 7.53 MPG Total with the gen running 10.9 hours during that leg of the trip...62 MPH on Cruise.

Got 8.216 MPG when I factored out the .75 GPH estimated used by the genny with one A/C running.

BTW, the new Samsung RF197 I installed ran impeccably and we smiled every time we heard the ice cubes dropping...

Great report.

It's nice to have diagnostics onboard to provide live status reports on any developing problems.

Congratulations on a successful trip!
