Why did you move from your 5th wheel and into a class A

We evolved this way: Tent - PopUp - Travel Trailer - Class A (floor plan based on kids)

We skipped the 5th wheel because we don't like the bigger trucks required to pull one. We were happy with the size of the TT, but hated being cooped up in the truck while one the road with dog and all. IMO, Class A is the way to go except you have to tow something or rent a car when you get to where you get. Honestly, we are getting used to just camping with whatever we take. With the TT we used to eat out all the time since we had a vehicle to cruise around. Now, we grill and cook a lot more.

Just a few...We find it a more comfortable drive. It is nice not to have to get out of the truck and walk back to get in the 5th wheel. I think the set up is a bit quicker.

i agree with the being cooped up in a truck. Just wanted to hear from those who have done it.

All really GOOD opinions on that link but the one that moved me Really! not just good opinions was the one that said a 5th wheel vacation starts when you get to your destination and a MH vacation starts when you leave your driveway! Well stated.

I never had a 5th wheel but my Journey always started from the driveway.

I did so because I was finally able to afford to.
The motorhome is 10X more enjoyable than dragging a fifth wheel around.
Easier to drive, dead quiet while driving with the motor way back there, generator for power all the time (as do some 5'vers), pushbutton leveling, in motion satellite TV while driving, and much more.

You always have to tow something. We went from a fifth-wheel to a class A mostly for comfort of ride. Our 1 ton truck that towed the fifth-wheel was harsh to ride in when we would go some place after parking the trailer. It was also a fuel hog. The fifth-wheel had more storage, so we carry things in our towed now. There is no perfect answer.

Had 37ft Fifth wheel we pulled with a crew cab Chevy diesel dually and loved it. Until we spent a month in Key West! That truck was nearly impossible to drive around town and we made up our mind that for our full timing adventures that a Motorhome pulling our Jeep Wrangler was the only way to go. MH=More storage out side...less storage inside, MH=much easier to set up/breakdown/level, and of course MH=go anywhere Jeep. We don't stay in resorts and prefer off the main road type of RVing that includes State Parks and the like. But I do miss my truck!
