Out with the front TV

Kate and I finally got up enough nerve to take out the front TV. We now have a big empty hole as we also took out some of the old frame work. We took some measurements and now will look for a flat screen to fit. I'm not much of a carpenter but we will give it a shot, wish us luck. We do work together but I hope we can stay married by the time we get done. Jim

Jim, I hope you and Katie survive the new TV install. I'm looking forward to seeing both of you again in the near future.

that is on my soon to do list with our,s------we just bought our first motorhome and i cant get the tv to work it comes on but i get no signal from the antena or vcr,,,so great reason to upgrade the 96 model tv to a nice bigger flat screen..

i wish you both a happy upgrade,,,should,nt be a hard job just build a box and finish it up with some nice trim work..---then you will look at each other and say we should have done this along time ago---lol

post up some pics..if you can would love to see before during and after..

Post some pictures of your tv upgrade. I have a 2004 and am getting ideas on replacing both the front and rear tv. Good luck with your project.

We plan on working on it sometime this weekend, will send some PIC's then. Kind of busy on Saturday have to watch the granddaughters play basketball. They are in 5th grade so you know it's exciting. Jim

Another Jim and Kate, installing a Vizio flat screen. We did that a couple of years ago. Have fun with the install. We enjoy the Vizio, and think it's a great TV.

We been rebuilding the front thing the TV was in. A lot of discussion and head scratching, and a little heated disagreements but all in all things are coming along. Will get some PIC's loaded and posted. Had to cut it down to fit the new TV, hope it fits back in there or it's plan B. Jim

Best way I found to install flatscreens in these spots. Get a good thick plywood board cut to the shape around your mounting holes on the TV, drill holes for the mounting screws, then screw this board to a 2x4 cut to the width of the hole you are installing the TV in. then place the TV in the hole with help to line it up. Get some cabinet screws and put in 2 3 inch screws in each of the side cabinets into the side of the 2x4. Instant awesome mount with no show

Tore mine out the other day and two more TV's and now selling them on Craigslist. Going to seal it up and use it for more storage - don't need or want TV when the kids and I have a whole campground.
