Out with the old, in with the new
Our Norcold decided to take an early retirement. Having read all the recalls and issues on here, I decided to leap into a residential. We had a smaller dorm fridge along side of the Norcold. The small one was food, the Norcold for beer. We also had a jack knife sofa/bed that never got used, so we opted for a 2 leaf table and chairs and a roll around "breakfast" cabinet from Big Lots. I added two pull out drawers to the cabinet for easy access and it comes with a flip down cutting board. I also added a LED strip light under the slideout woodwork for effects.

We're really impressed with what you did! Looks great, and it seems to me that it looks like more light will come in through your windows and it really opened up the floor plan and looks much more roomy. The fridge looks like it was factory installed, what did you have to do with the batteries to make sure you have enough power for the fridge?

fortunately the old fridge cabinet was about a half inch wider than the new fridge. I just had to remove a shallow cabinet that was above the Norcold and it fit right in. I installed 3 new wet cell batteries. It draws about 175 watts thru the inverter. It ran about 18 hours before shutting down with no power source. Plenty of time for our travels and we always have the generator. Biggest problem was getting the old one out. Had to use some redneck engineering.

Older posts refer to them as a Samsung RF197. The new model is Samsung RF18HFEN BBC for Black. $1146 from Lowes. Takes a couple weeks special order (Cabinet depth model)

I was also very pleased that the free delivery included installation. There was less than one inch clearance going thru the entry door. I removed the passenger seat and it barely got in do to the front overhead cabinets. The Samsung websites overall height dimension was not accurate, there is some kind of meta box attached to the top that was an extra 1 1/2" taller.
