I've had this Acu-Rite on my drivers window for a year now. Basic but, works great

I like the simplicity of this one. Are you taking it off while you drive or does it stay on OK at freeway speed?

thanks for the link

I leave it on 24/7 and while driving, has never come off. I put it in line with the rear mirror, maybe that cuts down the wind?

LOL but, i do have a safety string on it, a fish line tied to it with a couple knots at the other end, tucked the knots into the window frame water weep slot. Cannot see the fish line

Well that is pretty cool. Do you have problems with the sun directly on it?

Probably does get affected by the sun somewhat at a stand still, while driving air passing over it gives the correct temp sun or not. BTW, I have two, one on each of the coach to compare

Note, to see the temp outside light needs to present, night time you'll not see the temp number

We rarely drive after dark anyway.

I am trying an experiment on our upcoming trip. I have an indoor/outdoor thermometer with the wired probe that I have temporarily installed in the coach. I was able to attach the probe on the backside of one of the headlight cavities with double sided tape. I am thinking that is a pretty good location for the sensor. I also had a window suction cup cell phone holder that I attached to monitor to. This is only an experiment to see how it goes. If all goes well, I probably will get one that can be installed in the dash even though I am skeptical of cutting a hole in the dash though.

I bought a nice wireless model on eBay for about $20 and velcroed the display next to my thermostat. Nice big readout of both inside and outside temp.

I mounted the transmitter in my Propane bay as the bottom is open to constant airflow. I put it in one of those heavy freezer bags and used two sheet metal screws at the top through the thick part of the bag. These can then be removed to change the battery once a year. I taped the bottom with duct tape so it would not flop around.

Works great!
