Over engineered

Was looking for options to mount a iPad/iPhone/laptop while traveling down the road and something that could be used by me as a GPS while driving and could swing to the wife for input if needed or searching for something. I came across Ram Mounts and n easily configured version of what Police install in their patrol cars. The only problem was where to mount it. I thought about removing the cup holders installed by Winnebago and mounting direct to the engine cover. When I unscrewed the cup holders I found probably the most over engineered item on the motorhome which I found funny since most of this motorhome is built with the lightest grade materials. The cup holders have a 1.5" square tube like a trailer hitch that slides into a receiver and the tube is about 20" long.

Anyone else find over engineered items in their motorhome that made you laugh?

Wow, at least you have a solid mount for the ram mount and cup holders.

That is weird.. Maybe some kind of dual use mounting system for some options? Like maybe Passenger DVD/TV?

Looks like lots of possibilities there. Gets the drinks closer to you.

Don't question the wisdom, just use it to your advantage.

I agree. The mind has been working since I found it.
