tomkaren: the term P30 is nothing more than a industry generalization of the correct nomenclature used by GM. There NEVER was a P30, even though many dealers, repair shops, and even some state registration forms used the term. The confusion came about because many of the early models were (example only) P30232. Most folks did not understand that the 3 digits immediately following the P are a wheel base code and that the "series" of those chassis was the P and last 2 digits.
