Overtemp fault

I have a 2002 Safari Sahara, 39 ft with Cummins ISC engine. My problem is with the inverter. Everytime I turn it on it says: "Overtemp fault." It can't be too hot since it hasn't even been on and it's only 60 degrees outside. What else would cause this? A bad ground? Thanks. Chuck

I had a Freedom 458 inverter/charger in a 2006 Fleetwood 39s. A similar overheat situation happened. Turned out the internal fan had failed. I replaced the fan (similar to a computer fan) with one I bought on amazon.

It would not overheat when inverting but instead when we first plugged in to shore power because it was sending high current to charge the batteries. You can set the charge rate to a lower number on many inver/chargers.
