Pace Arrow Onan Marquis 7000 Muffler Question.

Hi All,

I am wanting to replace the muffler on my Onan Marquis 7000 with a car muffler. Specifically, a VW gti muffler. I was parting this vehicle out and it's about to head to metal recycling when I noticed it has a pristine exhaust system. I was thinking, hmm, germans make quality items, perhaps I can re-purpose this muffler. Obviously it's bigger than the ONAN, and I have no idea about relevant factors such as flow, back-pressure, etc.

I also have a new dirtbike muffler that's been sitting around for 5 years, which is definitely smaller, but again, don't know which specs to consult about exhaust gasses.

Is this absolutely silly, or something worth considering? I think I'm just watching my welder sit too long and itching for a Saturday afternoon project

Well because I was going to do a tune up on the gen, and since it requires removing it from the MC, I'll have access and stuff. But, ya you have a good point.
