Pace Arrow Vision

Hi everybody. New here and have a ton of questions. Might as well start with this one though. The wife and I are looking at doing the full time RV life, but our funds are limited to start out. Been doing a lot of searching and we have found a pretty nice 1996 Pace 36b, that fits in our budget. Has a single slide with a Chevy drivetrain. Mileage is around 75k. We will be using it to make the trip from SoCal to Washington, after that it probably won't be getting much road time. Any thoughts on this rig? Anything in particular I should be paying attention to while looking it over? Thanks in advance for any help.

You should look at tires, check date codes, tread life & sidewall condition. Even if you are going to park it in Washington, you still need to get it there. Also check roof condition & sealant around any penetrations for vents, antenna, etc., leaks are not good so also check interior for signs of leakage such as discoloration or bulging. If possible test appliances, particularly the fridge because replacement of appliances can really hurt a budget.

Private sale or dealer? I'd pay the cash to have it inspected. If it is a gas Rv you are starting to get into high mileage territory so I would want to see some good service history. I second the last poster's comments but where money is tight it is worth spending 300 dollars or so for a good inspection and avoid a multi thousand dollar mistake . Good luck

The Pace Arrow Vision was a classy gas motorhome in its day, but that day was a long time ago. Carefully inspect everything, appliances, electrical and water systems, chassis, roof, EVERYTHING, to be sure you aren't buying too many troubles. Any 18 year old vehicle and house is going to need some TLC, but if well cared for this one should meet your needs.

Glad to have you here with us. I agree with the previous posts. A good inspection will save you a lot of grief. Good luck and Happy Trails!

Thanks everyone. It is actually being inspected right now. Keeping my fingers crossed that it is all as good as it looks to my amateur eyes.

Bummer, always a disappointment when it doesn't work out but if they found something and saved you some headaches it is worth moving on...learned that lesson the hard way.
